Q: Are you a member of the Billiard Congress of America?Q: How can you offer such incredible prices on your pool tables and all your other products!A: Pool Tables Direct is the only factory direct online source from the largest manufacturer of pool tables and game room furniture in the world. As opposed to large traditional retailers, who drastically mark up the price of their merchandise to cover high overhead and business expenses on their stores, we offer factory direct overstock inventory at dealer wholesale prices. We offer the best pricing in the industry for three reasons:
a) As the largest online source of pool tables in the country, we deal in volume and pass the savings on to you.
b)As an Internet-focused business, we don't have to subsidize the heavy costs of large showrooms and other "brick-and-mortar" expenses that traditional business do.
c)Via our partnerships and strong industry reputation, we are able to acquire overstock factory direct when large retailers change or alter their orders. These overstock specials come at extremely reduced prices, and again, we pass these savings on to you.
More reasons why we are so competitively priced!Pool Table Cost / Accessory Cost / Cloth Cost - PoolTables-Direct.com is actually owned by The Greenleaf Billiards Company. So this is a
true factory-direct business. As such, our costs are rock-bottom and we pass those savings onto our customers. As for accessories and cloth - we purchase in huge quantities and are able to keep our costs low by doing this.
Transit Costs - We have used our large volume of sales and shipments to negotiate the industry's lowest shipping rates... in turn; we pass those savings onto our customers through lower prices.
Extremely low operating costs - All our products are stocked to the roof in our central Dallas or Los Angeles warehouse. By locating a facility in the middle of the country, we're able to efficiently handle shipping products anywhere in America. We use the most advanced (and cost-saving) Voice-Over-IP phone systems and operation management systems. We believe that a well-trained, well-paid employee is worth their weight in gold (in terms of quality customer service and error-free order management). So we draw the line at saving money by having some foreign call-center employee answering your call - when you call us up, you'll be talking to a friendly and knowledgeable American pool player who likely has one of our pool tables in their home.
The bottom line: You are not missing anything - you've simply found America's #1 source of top-quality billiard tables and a company that really knows the balance between great service and great prices.
Back to topQ: I saw an incredible special on a pool table on your home page. Do I need to act quickly to get that price?A: The opportunity to purchase these pool tables direct from the manufacturer is a rare occurrence, so if you are lucky enough to see a table you like, ACT QUICKLY! THESE TABLES LITERALLY SELL WHILE WE SLEEP.
Back to topQ: When will my order arrive?A: The answer depends on the model and whether it’s an in-stock pool table or custom manufactured. Each pool table should have a description of when it is supposed to ship. In addition to build time, shipping takes 1-2 weeks and installation can take another week. The average time frame for our Featured tables is 8-10 weeks and Custom tables 12-16 weeks. If you have a specific deadline to meet, call us after you order and we can do our best to make sure it's installed in time. For non-pool table orders we ship via UPS ground and you can expect delivery around 1 week after the order has been placed.
Back to topQ: What can I expect at delivery? Do I need to have a friend present?
A: Don't Worry, when the pool table gets into town, you'll get a phone call from the shipping company to setup a delivery appointment.. Each pool table weighs about a 1000 lbs and, depending on what options you chose during checkout, you may need several friends or none at all. During a "Curbside" delivery the driver will lower the product to the ground and roll it to an easily accessible area such as a porch or garage. During a “White Glove” delivery, a two-man crew will arrive in a tractor-trailer to help unload and bring the pool table into your home. They will then uncrate the shipment, unpack the items and remove all packing materials and crating lumber. You won't have to lift a finger.
ATTENTION:1. If you miss your delivery appointment, you will have to pay for the freight company to make another delivery attempt. This usually costs between $75 and $150..
2. If you see any type of damage be sure to notate it on the form that the deliverymen will have you sign. If possible, take digital photos of any problems. Unlike our competition we won't make you go through the 60+ day process of making a claim. If something is damaged or needs replacement - we'll handle the situation immediately and we'll deal with the freight company later on our own time.
3. If your house is not accessible by an 18-wheeler, simply let our drivers know when they call to set a delivery appointment. We'll then place the pool table on a smaller truck. WE DO NOT CHARGE EXTRA FOR THIS SERVICE.
Back to topQ. Is everything shipped together? A:Yes and No. When ordering a pool table, all the components of the pool table are usually shipped together (pool table, slate). The accessories and/or cloth will be shipped separately via UPS. If you have ordered additional items from other areas of our website (i.e. cue racks, pub tables, etc.) those items will ship directly from our distributor via UPS or FedEx.
Back to topQ. How is the pool table packaged? How heavy is it? What’s the largest piece? A: For most orders, your pool table is loaded onto a heavy-duty pallet and each piece of slate is inspected and packaged in our exclusive custom-designed corrugated sleeve. The protected slate is then layered on top of the shipment. We then secure everything with metal or plastic banding and industrial shrink-wrapping. The total weight is around 1000 lbs. The largest part of a pool table is the pre-assembled body and support beams. The average dimensions for an 8 foot table is approx 3’6” x 7’ x 16”. It is possible for a single able-bodied adult to maneuver the frame but it’s much easier with two people. If planning to lift the slate, a helper is strongly recommended to help lift each 300lb piece.
Back to topQ: Where will you ship to?A: We ship within the Continental United States, excluding Hawaii and Alaska. We currently do not ship outside of the U.S. Call us if you live in Hawaii or Alaska for a custom shipping quote.
Back to topQ: What is “White Glove” Delivery?A: Most complaints within the pool table industry are related to the shipping and delivery of the pool table itself. Our exclusive "White Glove" delivery service is ideal for customers who appreciate service and convenience. Instead of leaving the pool table on the curb or in your garage, our two- man delivery teams will unload the shipment, uncrate it and bring each piece into the room of your choice. They then remove the crating and packaging materials and dispose of them (saving you the cost and inconvenience of hauling it to the dump yourself).
Back to top Q: What if I live in a very remote area, or have extremely limited access to my residence that might make it difficult for a truck to access? Can I still order a table from you?A:Y es you can. However please be sure to call us after placing your order so that your situation is notated in our system.
Back to topQ: Can I install the table myself? A: Yes, you can install the table yourself, though we highly recommend having a professional installer set up the table for you. Installing a pool table is more complicated than you would expect. You must properly level it, install the felt, seal the seams, etc.. At only $349, our professional installation service is a great value.
Back to topQ: Do you have an installation manual for your pool tables? A: Yes. It can be purchased for $28. Keep in mind that a self-installation - even with the manual - is the cause of countless headaches for customers who choose this route.
Back to topQ: How long does installation take?A: Installation usually takes 2-5 hours.
